WHOIS - Who Are You?

I'm Judd Flamm, an Enthusiastic GWT user, as well as other Google Technologies like the JavaScript APIs, Google App Engine GAE - Java style, and I even use an Android phone - love it.

Who are you? Tell us about your interest in Google Technologies! What would you like to get out of the UGTUG? Take a moment and comment on this post with your info and thoughts...

I'm Trent Larson, a developer working with Google Apps and every other API I have time to try out... I'm not going to be left out of the One Party when Google takes over the rest of the civilized world. Seriously: it seems like Google code and/or online tools fit 90% of my needs with high quality, so I'm always interested in staying up on their offerings.

I'm Dan Stormont. I've been playing around with some of the Google APIs, like GWT, Android (especially since I got the cool Ion phone at the I/O conference this year), and, most recently, Wave. I wouldn't say I'm a Google convert just yet - they tend to release a lot of product before it's really ready for prime time, with the expectation that the community is going to fix it. On the other hand, I'm not happy with the direction Sun/Oracle has been taking with Java as of late, I haven't liked Microsoft's tools and APIs since the days of DOS 6.0, I love Linux but it's not likely to ever gain significant market share, and Apple is just too expensive to get involved with. So, I think I'm starting to come around to Google as the platform for the future. The Google developer community definitely seems to be the most energetic and creative of any group of developers I've ever been around.

My interest in participating in the UGTUG is to see what others are doing locally and to enjoy the sense of a shared community that was so obvious at I/O.
